Autosomal recessive disorder characterized by short stature, photosensitive skin lesions, hypogammaglobulinemia with recurrent respiratory infections, diabetes mellitus and early developing malignant neoplasms, most commonly hematolymphoid neoplasms but also epithelial neoplasms.  This syndrome may be diagnosed by demonstrating an increased frequency of sister chromatid exchanges in cytogenetic cultures exposed to bromodeoxyuridine.
